The Black American Party advances the producer class of the Black American community — through ownership, enterprise, constitutional principle, and economic solidarity. What is good for Black Americans is good for all Americans.
We have served in every American war. The party honors the armed services, rejects foreign command over them, and demands better for veterans.
As proud American patriots who have served in every war this nation has ever been involved in, the Black American Party supports the honor and respect of all our armed services. We reject the merging of the US military with any foreign military, or its being made to serve the interests of any foreign country. And we advocate for better support for our military veterans.
Black Americans fought at Bunker Hill before there was a country to be citizens of. We fought in the Union Army in numbers that decided the outcome. We fought in two world wars in a segregated uniform, and came home to towns that would not serve us in a diner while we were still wearing it. We fought in Korea, in Vietnam at rates well above our share of the population, and in every engagement since.
That record is not a debt this community owes. It is a debt owed to it. Nobody in this republic has purchased their claim on it more dearly, and the party states that plainly rather than politely.
The party rejects any arrangement in which American forces are merged into a foreign command structure or committed to the interests of another country. This is not isolationism and it is not directed at any particular ally.
It is a position about who bears the cost. When American forces are committed, the burden falls disproportionately on communities that enlist at high rates for economic reasons, and ours is one of them. A Black American family that sends a son should be able to see, plainly, whose interest he is being sent to serve. If the answer requires an explanation that cannot be given in public, this party's answer is no.
Health care that does not require a fight. The wait, the appeal, the lost file and the denial that is reversed only when somebody makes noise are not administrative accidents; they are the system's operating condition, and our veterans navigate it with the least institutional help.
Mental health treatment offered as standard rather than as a favor, including for those who left service years ago.
Housing, because the presence of veterans in the homeless population of every major American city is a standing indictment of a country that can fund a deployment and cannot house the man who came back from it.
Translation of military training into civilian credentials, so a man who maintained aircraft or ran a supply chain does not start over at the bottom of a ladder he already climbed. This is also directly the platform's economic argument: veterans are trained producers, and the community loses twice when that training is wasted.
And the GI Bill honored in fact. The original was administered in a way that excluded a great many Black veterans from the housing and education benefits that built the white middle class - the single clearest example in American history of a universal program delivered unequally, and one of the roots of the wealth gap this platform documents.
