Culture: The Thing We Export and Do Not Own
Black American culture is the most influential cultural force America has produced, and we capture almost none of its value.
The Black American Party advances the producer class of the Black American community — through ownership, enterprise, constitutional principle, and economic solidarity. What is good for Black Americans is good for all Americans.
The hardest chapter to write, and the one most needed.

We do not consistently patronise each other's businesses. We are harder on each other's service than we would be on a stranger's. We repeat and amplify the worst portrayals of ourselves. And the violence Black Americans suffer is overwhelmingly delivered by other Black Americans.
Those are not slanders. They are observable, and a community that cannot discuss them among itself has agreed not to fix them.
Nobody is born this way. Centuries of a system that rewarded division, punished solidarity and taught a people to associate itself with degradation will produce exactly this result. Internalised contempt is a predictable outcome of sustained external contempt.
Understanding the cause is necessary. It is not a cure, and it does not transfer responsibility for the repair to anyone else.
Love in this context is not a feeling. It is a set of behaviours: spending with each other, hiring each other, referring work, defending each other publicly, holding each other to standards, and refusing to entertain material that degrades us.
Every one of those is a decision available today. Economic solidarity is this chapter expressed as arithmetic - which is why the app, the directory and the network exist. They are love with a mechanism.
Because a community that cannot discuss its own patterns among itself has agreed not to fix them. The party frames it as a predictable outcome of sustained external contempt, not an innate trait.
Behavioural repair rather than sentiment: spending with each other, hiring each other, referring work, public defence, and holding each other to standards.

Every community teaches through its symbols. Ours are largely being chosen for us.
There is a difference between art that depicts a community's problems and an industry that manufactures them for sale.
We are the most valuable talent pool in global entertainment and among the least represented in its ownership.
The most commercially successful degrading portrayal of Black Americans in history is one we perform ourselves.
The same pattern as entertainment, with shorter careers and worse advice.
