Every other institution this platform proposes is downstream of this one.
The family is where values are transmitted, where the first capital is accumulated, and where children learn what is normal. No policy this party could win would compensate for its absence, and no external hostility has damaged the Black American position as much as the collapse of household stability over the last sixty years.
That statement is unpopular in some quarters. It is also the plain reading of the evidence, and a party unwilling to say plain things is not worth founding.
Little boys and little girls each need the daily example of an adult of the same sex in the home. That is not a moral flourish; it is how children learn what an adult version of themselves looks like. A boy without that example constructs one from whatever the culture supplies, and the culture currently supplies something ruinous.
The party's position is that the two-parent household is the arrangement we should be building toward, supporting and celebrating - while dealing honestly with the households that exist now rather than lecturing them.
The removal of the Black American father from the home is the single largest structural change in the community's modern history, and its consequences run through every other chapter here: wealth transfer, educational outcomes, exposure to crime, and the loss of the drive to build and establish that fathers historically transmitted to sons.
Article VI commits the party to paternal justice - holding fathers accountable while treating them fairly. Both halves are required. A system that pursues men for money while denying them their children produces exactly what it has produced.
Marriage and family formation treated as a public good rather than a private taste. Family financial literacy. Estate planning and written wills as a normal expectation, because the heirs' property crisis is a family-planning failure as much as a legal one. And an economy in which a young man can support a household, because the moralising is worthless without that.
