Black American political history is a sequence of remarkable individuals, each carrying a movement largely on personal authority, each removed by assassination, prosecution, scandal or time - and each removal setting the work back to something near zero.
That is not bad luck repeated. It is a structural weakness. A movement that lives in one person's charisma has a single point of failure, and our opponents have always understood that better than we have.
Written platforms that outlive their authors. Membership rolls. Institutions with successors, budgets and bylaws. Local chapters that function whether or not the founder is in the room. A treasury that several people can account for.
None of it is inspiring. All of it is what survives. The organisations that have shaped American policy over decades are almost uniformly dull and almost uniformly permanent.
The Black American Party is deliberately built as a structure: a written platform, a paid membership, tools that function independently of any individual. Its founder has stated he does not seek office.
The test of whether this has been built correctly is simple and uncomfortable - it should continue without him. Any movement that cannot pass that test has not been built; it has been performed.
Charismatic leadership rests on one person's authority and fails when that person is removed. Structural leadership rests on written platforms, membership rolls, chapters, budgets and successors, and survives.

The party supports the free practice of religion for all Americans, and recognizes what the Black church built while the state was not protecting us.
The party supports the legal and ethical practice of plural marriage for consenting adults who choose such an arrangement.
The party supports strong, traditional, nuclear families - and treats the household as the first institution everything else is built on.
The party supports legislation mandating DNA paternity testing at every birth, before any father is named on a birth certificate.
