School choice on one standard, abacus mind math, coding from grammar school, and entrepreneurship as a core subject.
The Black American Party supports a world-class public education for all American children, and those residing in the United States. It is in the public interest that the voting public be educated. The public education system in the United States as of this writing is in a state of great inequality. This is largely due to school districts being provided with funding based on the tax revenues in the area of the school. The Black American Party supports school choice. Therefore all public schools must meet the exact same quality criteria.
And what must these criteria be? Black American, as well as all American children should be taught abacus mind math. Our children should be exposed to the abacus before kindergarten, and taught mind math using the abacus throughout their education. It has been proven around the world that children who are exposed to abacus mathematics are capable of doing multiplication and division calculations of up to 9 digits in their minds. A strong mathematics foundation is essential for our children’s survival in the information age.
This brings me to coding. Not all STEM subjects (which are also important) but specifically coding for websites, software, and apps. Our children must be taught these skills in grammar school. The high-paying tech jobs in the United States that should be given to Black Americans are going to foreigners. The internet was gifted to the world by the United States. There is absolutely no reason why our free, public schools are not teaching every American student to master this new technology. As the future marches forward, we will grow more dependent upon technology, not less.
We cannot support the myth of the “digital divide” any longer. Our children are just as intelligent as any other children, and more creative. If you make anything popular among Black American youth, you will soon see the competition for excellence taken to extremes. I love this about our people. We have just been allowing others to dictate our values into the Black American Zeitgeist from outside. Young, Black American males are always the determinants of what “cool” is. It is time for Black Americans to take control of our cultural landscape, and not allow it to be dictated to us from outside any longer.
This means civil and criminal prosecution of individuals and entities that deliberately fund entertainment media that project negativity into our youth. This is cultural violence. This ugly trend has existed since the days of the minstrel show, through the age of blaxploitation, and now into the gangsta rap era. These are deliberate, pernicious assaults upon the consciousness of our people (mainly our children) as well as our culture. As of this writing, I am ashamed that Black Americans have allowed this cultural defamation to continue for as long as it has.
An American child’s education must include an education in entrepreneurship. This is another great shame about our education system. The economy of the United States thrives on small businesses. In order for Black America to establish any true sense of political power in the United States, we must first establish ECONOMIC POWER. This is done through the establishment of a strong Black American entrepreneur class. A strong, Black American entrepreneur class can then take advantage of being a numerical minority in the population of the United States, by doing business with American society at large, while benefitting from a national Black Business network for circulating dollars within the Black American community.
While on the subject of education, I cannot overlook the very controversial subject of race and IQ. Although most black Americans understand that IQ tests tend to be culturally biased, arithmetic is universal. The cultural problems that lead to our children having a deficiency in learning ability is a fixable problem. We just have to stop beating our children. Unfortunately, corporal punishment is too prevalent in Black Culture, Black Society, and the Black American Zeitgeist. It is time for us to stop finding humor, while comparing stories of how brutally we were physically punished as children. It has been scientifically proven time and again that there is a direct correlation between exposing a child to violence, and the lowering of the IQ.
While on the subject of education, I cannot overlook the very controversial subject of race and IQ.
Since there are those who believe that children should be exposed to gender and sexual orientation issues, it is important that we emphasize an education in human psychology to children from the age of eight years old. There is no harm in educating our children in what makes people, even adults, behave in the way that they do. This will produce a more sane society for all Americans, provided we do not allow the educational curriculum to be corrupted by post-modernist, neo-liberal indoctrination, or any products of the Frankfurt School.
In order to best prepare all American children for the 21st Century, we must emphasize STEM education in all public schools. STEM stands for Science, Technology, Engineering, and Math. This will empower Black American children to participate fully in the new digital economy.
